According to TODAYonline, Rachael will be doing a show at the Esplanade Concert Hall on February 23, 2012 at 9PM.
Free Show in Philly!
Rachael is hooking up with WXPN/World Cafe Live to do a Free at Noon show on Friday, September 30th in Philadelphia, PA, USA. If you plan on going, you’ll need to RSVP here by clicking on the words ‘Rachael Yamagata’ at the top of the page inside the red box.
If you can’t make it to the show, WXPN will be streaming it live this Friday on the radio and on online at XPN.org/listen.
I believe this is the second time Rachael has done a Free at Noon show. You can listen to “Elephants” from the broadcast she did in 2008, plus download the whole show here!
2011 Tour Dates Announced
These were posted yesterday as a Pledge Only Exclusive. They’re up on Facebook now, though, so I *think* it’s safe to share them here. I’ve no idea when they’re going on sale or how much they will be but The Province says the show on November 21st at the Media Club is $17 and that tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. JSOnline says the show on November 10th at Turner Hall Ballroom is $15 but does not list an on-sale date.
I know Rachael has a lot of fans outside of the US and Canada so I’m really hoping she has more tour dates coming for all of those fans as well, I’m guessing some time early next year. It might be a good idea to get on Facebook and/or Pledge and let her know she has fans wherever you are so that if she is planning more dates, she’ll have you in mind.
In the meantime, let’s all help Rachael promote this tour and make it a success by spreading the word about these dates!

Rachael To Play Earthquake & Tsunami Relief Benefit At City Winery 3/31
Rachael, along with “Tift Merritt, Marshall Crenshaw,Dar Williams, Lucy Wainwright, Nicole Atkins, Ben Sollee, classic pianist Taka Kigawa, and the New York based big band Morning Musuko” will be playing a benefit concert at the City Winery in New York on Thursday, March 31st to help raise money for the recent crisis in Japan.
Our neighbors in Japan, like our neighbors in Haiti, are part of our global family and need our help.[…]
Once again we are asking you to help support a worthy cause and purchase tickets to the benefit concert. We will donate 100% of all ticket sales to relief efforts. Matching donations from the Ogawa family in San Francisco will double your contribution.
Our target of $30,000 will be directed to help with the immediate efforts of the JAPANESE RED CROSS SOCIETY in assisting those most keenly affected by the catastrophic event that has literally reshaped their lives. We have partnered with our friends at New York-Tokyo to produce “BRIDGE TO JAPAN”, which will feature performers from both countries. Japan like New York City is a collection of islands joined by common experience but comprised of dynamic communities of musicians, artists and fans. It is our hope that the concert will bring together individuals from these communities with the common goal of helping those in need.
